To reduce costs, most health facilities purchase same fit gloves that can be worn for various purposes, well this may cut cost but is not an effective way of protecting the users. Common gloves in use today include latex, vinyl and nitrile. These are effective in protecting blood related pathogens. All gloves use a different level of protection.
For instance exam gloves used labs, physician clinics and surgery units may totally differ. For this reason people working in ICU or ER units should wear thicker gloves made from materials like vinyl.
